1st Day of Summer Vacation

I wanted to start my first day of summer vacation with a morning bike ride since I have not been able to do this for a long time. However, I found that I just didn't have enough time. So, my first day of summer vacation was similar to my last few weeks of school. I spent the day at my computer completing classwork, reading, and writing in order to finish assignments.
How have you spent your first day of summer vacation? Did you sleep in? Did you your favorite tv shows that you miss in the mornings? Maybe you enjoyed the opportunity to be outside on such a warm, beautiful day. Please let me know!

Your Year in S-3

Hi class! Welcome to my new blog for S-3. A blog is short for web log. In this case, we are talking about a log as in a journal, or a compilation of writings. Since it's a log on the web, it's a blog...get it?

I'm happy that you have made to this point. We are almost finished the school year. I'd like for you to consider your entire experience in S-3 over the past year. I'm going to remind you of a few of the events...

  1. We started the year learning that "you can't work together unless you work for yourself". This was our mantra, and got the ball rolling in order to create the wonderful classroom community that we have today.
  2. We learned a lot about bullying. We had a very fun assembly explaining the acronym for LISA...do you remember what the letters stand for?
  3. We did some fantastic writing, including creating our very own comics!
  4. We had a fun time learning and using our test taking strategies for the PSSA. And, when testing week came along, we had a blast snacking, relaxing, and most importantly giving the PSSA tests our best!
  5. We explored the DaVinci Science Center inside and out. Many of you had favorite events and explained your desire to visit that place again.
These were just a few events to get your mind going. Please consider your favorite part of this school year. It does not have to be one of these events. It could be a person, a time you learned something, a time when you reached a goal that you never thought you'd make it to, or anything else!

Post this reaction on the blog for the rest of us to read!
